The educational technology company <\/strong>Datorium<\/em><\/strong> in collaboration with the Latvian Information and Communications Technology Association, invites girls aged 14 to 19 from Latvia and Lithuania to take their first steps in the world of coding by learning the \u201cPython\u201d programming language. The course is specially designed to help girls develop digital skills and learn programming in a supportive #girlsonly environment.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Programming is becoming one of today\u2019s essential skills and is certainly not just for boys. We have created a special online programming course, PyGirls<\/em>, exclusively for girls aged 14\u201319. Over four months, participants will learn Python, currently the most popular programming language, and create their first applications. In addition to programming skills, the girls will enhance their logical thinking and acquire modern digital tools to effectively collaborate on projects and work remotely in teams, as practiced in the IT industry,” emphasized Datorium<\/em> co-founder Angela Jafarova. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programming classes will be held online every Tuesday from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, beginning on December 10. Conducted in English, the program includes a total of 16 engaging sessions. The course will culminate in an exciting PyGirls<\/em> hackathon at the end of March 2025. All classes will be recorded and accessible through the learning platform for convenient review. To participate, students will need a computer and a stable internet connection. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I believe that every girl can code! I\u2019ve been teaching PyGirls<\/em> for four years, and every year I receive messages from participants saying: OMG, if I had known coding could be so fun and interesting, I would have started earlier!<\/em> Together, we can break the stereotype that programming is complex and boring. In today\u2019s world, digital and programming skills are essential for every girl who wants to start her own business, work in a modern international company, or build a successful career in any field,” shared Lu\u012bze Kadakovska, a PyGirls<\/em> instructor and programmer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over 500 girls have already graduated from the PyGirls<\/em> course, with 86% deciding to continue learning programming. Participants will also join the Datorium<\/em> Discord server community, which connects over 10,000 youth interested in programming and technology, offering engaging discussions, free events, opportunities to find internships or jobs, and many other exciting possibilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organized by the educational technology company Datorium<\/em> in collaboration with industry partners and the Code4Europe<\/em>program, these programming courses are made possible through funding from the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HADEA) as part of the Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL), project No. 101158834 \u2014 Code4Europe<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
