EU Code Week hackathon “Hello, Future!”

From10. to 28. MarchDatorium, as part of the Code4Europe project,  will organise an EU Code Week hackathon with LIKTA, inviting girls aged 14-19 from across Latvia to use digital technologies to address current global and local challenges!

This year’s hackathon  theme is“Hello, Future: Technical Solutions for a Changing World”, covering areas such as climate change, sustainability, health, artificial intelligence, education and more. The CodeWeek hackathon will be held in every EU country. The hackathon will be conducted in English, and the winning team will represent Latvia in the European finals.

The hackathon will run for five days, during which teams will develop and refine their ideas on one of the given themes. To help participants develop their ideas successfully, industry experts will lead masterclasses on solution design, technical development and presentation skills.

Hackathon schedule:

  • 10 March – Online hackathon opening and topic presentations
  • 11 March – Online masterclasses and work on developing ideas.
  • 13 March – Online masterclasses and work on developing ideas.
  • 14 March – Online masterclasses and work on developing ideas.
  • 28 March – In-person final in Riga (the final venue will be confirmed)

Partnership opportunities  for companies and organisations:

  • Event partnership:An opportunity to promote your organisation by supporting the hackathon, for example by providing prizes or financial support, submitting your own topic, or providing mentors.
  • Participation in the jury:An opportunity to participate as experts by evaluating the participants' solutions and providing feedback.
  • Leading a masterclass:An opportunity to lead a masterclass that would help participants develop and present their ideas more effectively (masterclass topics can be selected together with the organisers).
